Henry Muyanja claimed the Super 8 tennis tournament recently at center court Lugogo tennis club as he overcame his friend Moses Otiti, 4-6,6-4,6-0 in a thrilling final that was watched by several tennis fans and Uganda Tennis Association officials.
Muyanja started his quest for the crown slowly falling in the first set 4-6, but bounced back with big winners on his forehand to hand him the next set 6-4, however Otti, would have wrapped up the proceedings early in the set, leading at 4-1, but later collapsing due to his poor forehand that made him make several unforced errors.
He wrapped the third and final set 6-0. “It feels great beating him again now am 2-1 against him and I hope to have many more exciting battles with him,” Muyanja said after the win. “He gave me a good run for my money, but I took full advantage of his weak back hand.”
Muyanja walked away with 600,000 and Otiti received 350,000.
In the End of Ladder tournament which is a basic doubles tournament that is for men, women and mixed Team Blue were the winners after beating Team White, the ladder had a total of 42 players with 40 male players and 8 lady players.
The most active player in the ladder was Victor Drile, who played a total of 27 matches in the tournament that has been running since early in the year.
