Uganda and Tanzania will battle for glory in the final of the 2026 CECAFA U17 Women’s Championship slated for Tuesday at the KMC Stadium in Dar es Salaam at 3:30 PM EAT.

The two teams come into the final on a deserving note, given their performance right from the group stages.

Hosts Tanzania remain unbeaten and topped Group A with seven points, beating Somalia and Sudan before wrapping up group business with a draw against Kenya.

In the semifinals, Tanzania made light work of South Sudan, winning 4-0 to reach the final.

For Uganda, on the other hand, they remain perfect, having won all their group games and yet to concede a goal at the tournament.

In the group phase, Uganda humiliated minnows Djibouti 13-0, defeated South Sudan 4-0 and overcame Zanzibar with a 3-0 result.

In the semifinals, Uganda beat rivals Kenya 3-0 to book a berth in the final.

Shadia Nabirye has been the outstanding player for the Teen Cranes, scoring in three of the four games and currently leads the scoring chart with six goals.
