Among most budding youngsters world over, many will attest to a crush on their favorite icon, someone they look to as an inspiration in a life career.

Western region U-17 Airtel Rising stars Most Valuable girls’ football player, Ritah Nabbosa, 15 is no exception.

Albeit many fine players she has closely followed, Nabbosa affirms watching the Portuguese footballer, Cristiano Ronaldo dribble; shoot and score inspires her to play the beautiful game.

“I have always loved to play like Ronaldo (Cristiano) because he loves his teammates, is very cheerful,  dribbles very well and scores many goals”, Nabbosa said.

The senior three student of Citizen High school in Isingiro District was voted the best player (Girls’ MVP) at the Western region finals that concluded at Kabale Stadium on Sunday.

“I want to study hard and finish school then play football competitively like Ronaldo”, the second last born in the family of 7 adds.

She was among the 36 cream de la cream of the region picked by national She Cranes coach, Majidah Nantandah that will represent the Western region at the national finals set for Fort Portal (June 26th -30th 2014).

Nantanda praises the exceptional talent of Nabbosa. “She is a good player who will need special attention to make the grade for club football, under age competitions, national team and a great professional career too”, the national ladies’ coach says of the player.

For Nabbossa, given her tender age, the unquestionable will power to perform best, invest countless hours of practice and the right guidance from coaches, the sky is surely the limit for the youngster.
