Sport-S coach Mugisha Benon has dismissed words that the absence of Nemostars and Sky takes a lot away from this year’s Nkumba Open Volleyball Championship.
Nemostars and Sky will be taking part in the Amacco International Volleyball Championship that started yesterday in Eldoret Kenya.
“The good thing none of them (Sky and Nemostars) is the defending champion of the tournament,” said Mugisha
“It’s the defending champions that bring competition to the tournament not the teams people think are good,” he reasoned.
The news of Sky and Nemostars’ absence sounded like shock to KAVC’s Joel Endra who was voted MVP at last year’s edition.
“Nemostars’ is not there?” asked KAVC’s Joel Endra. “Now who will beat us, Sport-S on tarmac? That is impossible.”
“Last year our target was to win, this year the target is to defend it and we will give our best,” added last year’s tournament most valuable player.
The women category will be about defending champions Ndejje Elites, Vision Volleyball Camp and hosts Nkumba.
