Fixtures at RFUEA Grounds
Kenya U19 Vs Uganda U19 – 12:00pm
Kenya Lionesses Vs Lady Cranes – 2:00pm
Kenya Lions Vs Uganda Rugby Cranes – 4:00pm

Rugby Cranes will need to defend or better their seven point lead against Kenya in Nairobi’s RFUEA grounds as the sides meet in the 2014 Elgon Cup second leg on Saturday.

Cranes defeated the Kenya Lions 21-14 in the first leg at Kyadondo Rugby Grounds last Saturday and look forward to another triumph that may clinch the honours away from home.

With coach Peter Magona at the helm of the Ugandan side, the outfit will require more powerful play from Bishop Onen, Tchumkam Martial, Odongo Marvin and Kevin Makmot’s conversion brilliance to disappoint the Kenyans who won last years edition.

Cranes Captain Brian Odong believes his colleagues are capable of preventing the Lions comeback that had them to the crown last year, revealing a similar but improved plan for the encounter.

“We are going to do the same things, be tighter in defense and put on some points. We shall work on many strategies, kicking one of them, then the general game play,” he said.

Kenya won the second leg of the Elgon cup 13-19 at Kyadondo Rugby grounds last year after Uganda edged them 16-17 at Kenya’s Kasarani Stadium.

The Rugby Cranes have emerged Champions of the Cup only twice ( 2006 and 2012) while the Kenya Lions are seven time winners since 2004.
