Group C:

Police FC (Rwanda) 3-1 Benadir (Ethiopia)

Rwanda’s Police FC confirmed status as group C leaders after beating Somalia’s Benadir FC in an entertaining match played at Kigali Regional stadium, Nyamirambo.

Kipson Atuheire, Jacques Tuyisenge and Moussa Habimana were on target for the cops who now finish top of group C with maximum points after three games.

Atuheire opened the scoring inside five minutes and Moussa Habimana made it two seven minutes later but the Somali side held on to this slim deficit till end of half time despite endless attacks on their goal.

At one moment, the ex-SC Villa forward was culprit for missing a one on one opportunity when played through by Jerome Sina.

In the second half, Benadir came out re-energized and threatened on a number of occasions before finally getting their reward as Mustapha Zekor Garba cut the deficit through a well taken goal but were dealt a great blow when Jacques Tuyisenge extended the cops lead moments later.
