2014 Bika Opener:

Mmamba Gabunga (lung fish) has ejected Ngo (Tiger) out of the 2014 Bika Bya Baganda football tourney after a slim hard fought 1- 0 victory at Mutesa II stadium in Wankulukuku on Saturday.

Lweza f.c left winger, Farouk Musisi Kizito’s well struck effort on 67 minutes has proved the only difference in a match watched by a relatively suspect low turn up.

The usual euphoria associated with the rare but worthwhile visit as Kabaka Muteb II visits his subjects was inevitably eminent though from a poor number of fans in the historic stadium.

After a scoreless first opening 45 minutes, Mmamba Gabunga, who had hit the cross  bar in the 39th minute through Brian Bwete lit up the match tempo with Elunkana Nkugwa’s mesmerizing dribbles that were a ‘handful’ for Ngo the entire Ngo back line.

A long ball off the pams of Mamba skipper and goalie, Godfrey Wakabu was well controlled by Nkuguwa who set up Kizito for a long range attempt that beat Ngo goalie, Micheal Mwanje and spark wild celebrations from the mamba followers.

Ngo’s fight back efforts spur headed by Nicolas Lubowa and Willy Kavuma have all yielded no dividends – thanks to solid defence line of Mmamba Gabunga.

The matches resume on Monday at Wankulukuku with a double header as Mpologoma hosts Mutima Muyanja at 2 pm before Ngaali plays Lugave later at 4pm.
