Uganda Victoria Vixens 14-00 Comras
Victoria Vixens emerged under 19 girls’ Safari Sevens champions following a 14-00 thrashing of Kenya’s Comras at Moi International Stadium, Kasarani.
Ritah Najjumba and Juliet Nandawula scored a try each to claim the accolades unbeaten. Juliet converted both tries, as the side kept a clean sheet, conceding no try or penalty in the competition.
The youngsters concluded their impressive campaign with a total of 131 points scored in 5 encounters, notching the greatest number of tries in the category so far.
The squad consisting young tag rugby graduates defeated group A counterparts Western Kenya, Comras and Nyanza before making the main cup semi finals against Kenya’s Maono.
The girls impressed, emerging victorious to reach the main cup final to face Comras again. The Kenyan team lost by the same score in the group stages.
Coach Allan Musoke who could not make it to Kenya with the Victoria Vixens was delighted at the results, congratulating the gallant players, “This bunch of ladies is truly amazing. Congratulations to the Victoria Vixens. Proud Coach!.”
