Uganda Cranes striker Yunus Sentamu ensured his side AS Vita reached the finals of this year’s Orange CAF Champions League after netting in the 2-1 win over Tunisia’s SC Sfaxien at the Taieb Mhiri Stadium.
The ex-Vipers SC striker scored the winning goal for the DR Congo side in the 55th minute adding on to Mungaga’s 45th minute goal that cancelled out Derbali’s opener for the home team in the 26th minute.
The win implies AS Vita edges CS Sfaxien 4-2 on aggregate following a similar win in Kinshasa a week ago.
CS Sfaxien, holders of the CAF Confederation Cup now miss out on making history as the first side to win back to back continental titles.
AS Vita will now meet the winner between compatriots TP Mazembe and Algeria’s ES Setif who face off on Sunday in the other semi-final in Lubumbashi.
The Algerian side lead 2-1 from the first leg.
