Ugandans might be eager to get the Confederation of Africa Football (CAF) official statement concerning the petition filed by FUFA in regards the true age of the Zambian youngsters.

However, the continental football governing body has already categorized Zambia among the successful nations for the Niger U-17 finals.

“Zambia is the only debutant at the finals for the Niger finals, joining Niger (hosts), Cote d’Ivoire, Ghana, Mali, Nigeria and South Africa, as well as Congo and Guinea.”, reads a statement published on the body’s website, cafonline.com.

After Zambia’s first leg 2 -0 home victory in Lusaka, Uganda filed an official petition to CAF doubting the true age for 4 of Zambia’s players including the team skipper, Patson Daka, who turns out for Zambia Premier league side, Nchanga Rangers.

Zambia won the corresponding Kampala fixture 1 -2 to progress 4 – 1. However, CAF is yet to get an official communication to the Ugandan F.A.

Prior to the kick off of the return leg, the match commissioner took photos with the said Zambians on orders from the continental football ruling body.

The other finalists are hosts, Niger,Cote d’Ivoire, Ghana, Guinea, Mali, Nigeria and South Africa.
