Group E: Uganda Vs Togo
Sat, October 11, 2014 Mandela national stadium, Namboole (4 pm)
Going by the earlier communication from the Togolese Football Association (TFA), the team was set to arrive in Uganda on Wednesday (7pm).
However, the latest information indicates Togo has postponed the arrival date to Friday (noon), barely 12 hours to the kick off the next day at Namboole National Stadium.
“Togo will reach Entebbe international Airport this Friday at noon” FUFA’s head of protocol, Bonifance Oreyma confirmed to Kawowo Sports.
Togo coach Tchanile Tchakala last week named a strong squad to face Uganda Cranes including among others Tottenham Hotspurs forward Emmanuel Sheyi Adebayor. The two sides are due to face off on October 11 at Mandela national stadium, Namboole before the Togolese host Cranes four days later in Lome.
Adebayor missed Togo’s opening 2-1 loss to Guinea but featured as they lost to Ghana 3-2 in Lome and was among The Sparrow Hawks goal scorers. The match will be handled by Kenyan officials.
