One of Africa’s greatest football derbies which was played on Saturday between Simba Sports Club and Young Africans Club ended in a goalless draw.
The game that Uganda forward, Emmanuel Okwi produced a dazzling performance, characteristically attracted huge turnout from fans in the National stadium in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania.

Simba SC defence marshaled by towering Ugandan international Joseph Owino and youthful Hassan Isihaka ensured their goalkeeper is untroubled.
Ugandan striker Emmanuel Okwi, who dramatically rejoined Simba from Yanga, also produced a stunning display, keeping Yanga defense busy throughout the 90 minutes.
Okwi’s shot in the 17th minute slightly missed the target. Then the ball swung to the other end, with Brazilian Andrew Coutinho‘s deflected shot well collected by the Simba SC custodian.
Emmanuel Okwi continued to torment the Yanga defense, and in 19th minute, the former SC Villa striker controlled the ball with his chest before drilling in a powerful shot that sailed over the bar.
Second half started strongly as Simba pressed forward and on 67th minute, Yanga survived another scare when the outstanding Okwi set up Chanongo whose shot beat the keeper only for the far post to come to the rescue.
The day also saw defending champions Azam FC, which employs Uganda defender Luckson Kakolaki, pipping Mbeya City 1-0 at the Sokoine Memorial Stadium.
In other matches, Ruvu Shooting whipped debutants Ndanda FC 3-1 while Mtibwa Sugar fought to a scoreless draw with Polisi Morogoro.
Azam FC now leads the log with 10 points, Young Africans follow with nine points after week four of the league. Simba SC is 10th.
