Serere Pool Club came from behind to secure an advantageous first leg draw against Masindi based Red shooters.

Samuel Echumu was Serere’s hero when he leveled the match 10 – 10.

Red Shooters had earlier enjoyed a 10 – 08 lead but later succumbed to the prowess of Serere’s composed players.

Serere now needs 11 goals to enter the Quarter Finals of this year’s Clubs Knock Out.

“The fact that we shall be at our home ground in Serere puts us ahead of Red Shooters in the second leg next weekend. Our fans shall give us the much needed support to enable us win at home,” said a smiling Echumul.

Elsewhere, Skin Samona walloped Big Spenders 14-06 at Pacify Motel, Wakaliga and will need only 7 goals away in Ntinda this Saturday to enter the quarterfinals.

Hotpool, which was at home, survived their derby against Spice to secure a 10 – 10 draw.

“This year’s winner in the men’s category shall walk away with UGX 1,000,000, a trophy and medals while the winner in the ladies’ category shall walk away with UGX 500,000, a trophy and medals.” clarifies PAU publicity secretary, Michael Mawanda.
