Ugandan badminton star Edwin Ekiring considers the South African Badminton International a very tough challenge compared to the Nigeria and Zambian outings which he came out on top. Ekirng won’t be seeded at the tournament despite being a top favorites and he is well aware of the task ahead.

The previous two (Nigerian and Zambian) were a little easy, because some players thought I had lost the zeal to play at the top level. They were caught by surprise on two occasions but that won’t the case in South Africa, everyone knows what I can do and they will bring their A game. You can say this championship is tougher than the Nigerian and Zambian combined but  I am prepared and ready for anything, I have spent a lot of time in Holland trying to better my game, trust me I can match anyone any day

The Netherlands-based Ekiring opens the campaign against Adam Mendrek of Czech Republican. Milan Ludik (second seed) Italian Rosario Maddaloni (fourth seed) and Croatian Matej Hlinican (eighth seed) are the seeded players in Ekiring’s draw.
