The reigning East Africa University champions Ndejje University are on the verge of retaining the overall title they won in Tanzania two years ago having won the athletics, Table Tennis,Taekwondo and wood ball overall medals by the 4th day of action.
They have now amassed a total of 28 medals that include; 10 gold, 8 silver and 10 bronze medals.
Hosts, Uganda Christian University (UCU) have collected 16 total medals (7 gold, 5 silver and 4 bronze medals).
Ndejje University has been dominant in Table Tennis, Athletics, woodball, Taekwondo after sweeping the gold medals in each of these events.
In football, Makerere, IUIU, Kyambogo and Uganda Martyrs University, Nkozi are into the semis before the finals on Sunday.
Hosts UCU are the Rugby champions after winning the two days’ event held at Namilyango College with Makerere winning silver.
Ndejje edged Makerere 28-12 in the one sided final.
KIU won gold in Karate with Ndejje scooping the gold medal in Taekwondo.
In wood ball, Ndejje is dominating with many gold medals and are on the verge of winning the inaugural event in the biennial games.
In swimming, KIU were again the gold winners. Swimming and Hockey conclude Saturday with the grand closing ceremony and finals for most games on Sunday.
Football, Netball, Chess, Volleyball and Basketball finals will all be played on the final day of action.
