Proline Soccer Academy defender Ali Mbogo has completed a two year loan move to Oman based outfit, Fanja Sports Club.
The official statement from the FUFA Big League club blessing the 23 year old defender’s loan move states;
Mbogo (Ali) joins Fanja Sports Club on a two year loan deal. We wish him fruitful deliberations and success with his new team
Fanja Sports Club is the 2014 Sultan Qaboos Cup champion and will represent Oman in the 2014 Asian Club’s Cup tourney.
Mbogo, who has previously had a training stint with Uganda Premier League side, Bright Stars F.C, officially becomes coach Guglielmo Arena’s first signing of the season.
Fanja’s assistant coach, Mohsin Al Kharusi believes Mbogo’s physical presence and positional discipline will be a great bonus for the Oman based team.
Fanja Sports Club has clinched 9 sultan championships, 8 league titles, 2 Gulf Cups and 1 Super Cup.
They are also in advanced talks with another Ugandan, striker, Brian Umony.
