Setter Patrick Luganda might be part of Nemostars Volleyball Club’s 2015 season after the player resumed serious training at the evening of last year. The two time league champions resumed training officially on January 5, and Luganda was one of the players who attended ahead of a tight preseason schedule; telling Kawowo sports, Luganda said:

The last one year and half has been tight for me in terms of work. It was getting hard for me to balance both work and training, but I can make the time now.

Luganda was last seen actively with Nemostars at the 2013 Africa Club Championship in Libya Tripoli where the side finished 11th out of 17 clubs but the former UCU Doves player is optimistic.

I don’t think it’s too late for me to get back, have been keeping in shape and am sure I will be ready by the beginning of the season.

He returns at a time when the club’s main setter Smith Okumu has been solely setting for the club without backup. The would-be backup setter in Derrick Kazooba was always inconsistent with training and unavailable for matches most of the time.

Luganda will be tasked to help Nemostars reclaim the league title they have won twice in the past three seasons. They were knocked out by Sport-S at the semifinal stage last season. But also win a third straight national Club Championship and defend the Dr Aporu Okol Memorial Championship title.
