Captain Christopher Katongo and fellow forward James Chamanga have been dropped from Zambia’s National football team ahead of the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations which starts on 17th January.
The duo were part earlier in the preliminary list which was named last month but both were dropped in the final which was announced by coach Honour Janza at a news conference in South Africa, where the team are preparing for the finals.
Eight players from their African Nations Cup- winning squad of three years ago were retained with Rainford Kalaba chosen as captain.
Zambia won the continental championship in Gabon in 2012 and will battle Tunisia, Cape Verde Islands and Democratic Republic of Congo in Group B.
