Zambia’s key midfielder Nathan Sinkala will not feature for his nation any more in the ongoing Africa Cup of Nations after being ruled out due to injury.

Sinkala sustained a knee ligament injury in Zambia’s tournament opener against the Democratic Republic of Congo, an encounter that ended in a 1-1 stalemate.

Sinkala was substituted in the 86th minute, Christopher Munthali replacing him in a match that saw Zambia Given Singuluma’s 2nd minute goal get equalized by DR Congo’s Yannick Bolasie in the 66th minute.

The Football Association of Zambia said on Monday that Sinkala’s knee injury would take a minimum of four weeks to heal.

Under tournament regulations Zambia will not be able to replace him with a player out of the final 23 man squad.
