Sadolin Mongers Coach Robert Powell was extremely disappointed as his side lost their fourth consecutive Nile Special Uganda Rugby Premiership match on Saturday.

Mongers were humbled by Heathens at Kyadondo Rugby Grounds 33-05 and the coach

could only watch and admire the skills, pace and speed of thought displayed by the home team.

Mongers notched only one try by Herbert Kato who returned to the team recently after being sidelined due to injury in the first half of the season.

Heathens’ 5 tries were scored by Joel Kimuli, Brian Kikaawa, Mathias Ochwo and a brace from Micheal Wokorach. Heathens barely missed kicker Phillip Wokorach who moved to the U.K for a stint with Esher Rugby Club.

It was the first time Mongers conceded more than two tries in a single game and also the first time we had failed to take any points from a fixture.

Mongers new year has been dominated by trials and tribulations despite the return of several injured players.

However Powell still has hope the side will finish in the top four.

I feel comfortable that this result will spur us on to perform much better in our final 3 fixtures and achieve the goal of a top 4 finish.

Mongers played without Simon Wakabi but Powell felt

both Andrew Olweny and Elijah Segawa had decent games with ball in hand and made some telling tackles.

The coach though further told Kawowo Sports,

it was gut wrenching to watch the team being so thoroughly and professionally taken apart as the Heathens offence ran riot through our secondary defensive cover.

Mongers will now visit Legends Rugby Grounds on Saturday to face Pirates a side they defeated 26-15 at Entebbe Rugby Grounds in the first round of the season.
