Maroons Rowing club won the 2015 opening rowing Uganda Rowing Regatta held at Kisubi beach along Entebbe road. Maroons collected 95 points beating Green Belt (65) who finished in second place out of the 6 clubs that took part.

Maroon’s Sarah Enokokin won the women’s single scull while Green Belt’s Alfred Okello won the men’s version. Raymond Adiga and Douglas Kisarale of Maroons club took the doubles event.

William Mwanga, Raymond Adiga, Arnold Omony and Douglas Kisarale won the four man’s boat category.

“The event was competitive and we expect more new emerging talents to come up as we prepare for East Africa and local regattas.” Rodrick Muhumuza, an official of Uganda Rowing Federation said.

The event was organized by Kisubi Pirates, the Home team for Kisubi Beach. The next event is the Maroons Invitational Regatta which will still take place at Kisubi Beach on the 30th May.
