Gulu Elephants Rugby Club will soon move to their new home following ground breaking on their newly acquired piece of land located at Gulu town school.
The Northern Uganda based Rugby Club will now have somewhere they call home, after a deal was struck with the primary school in Gulu in a bid to make the land more productive.

The school agreed to offer the land for development with the rugby club set to have a minimum of two playing pitches, with the potential for a third.
The club acquired land “after over 4 years of dreaming, negotiations, rejections, offers, more rejections” according to David Marchesseault, the founder of Gainline Africa, a company with which the club partnered to deliver.
Building a clubhouse is next on the agenda after a maintenance committee consisting of all concerned parties was established to deal with the build out.
“As a partner it was truly a fantastic site to see something we’ve always wanted to come true materialize from the efforts of the local community,” David Marchesseault told Gainline website.
“With Ugandans firmly at the helm of their own clubs destiny we can continue our work with them in expanding the game and showing the rest of the country this regions pride for its athletes,” he added.
Gulu Elephants joins Entebbe Mongers among the Rugby Clubs in Uganda that have recently secured pieces of land large enough to accomodate club facilities.
Mongers are in plans of developing their piece located in Katabi, Entebbe according to head coach Robert Powell. The land was donated by the Mayor of Entebbe town.
