2015 East African Table Tennis Championship:

7th – 8th March 2015

Ahead of the 2015 East African Table Tennis Champions that kick off on Saturday, defending champions, Mbale Tigers club are oozing with confidence of successful title defence campaign.

Speaking at the club’s training on Thursday at Manafwa High School on Thursday, Jude Mutete, the club’s head tactician is optimistic of the title defence.

We have prepared adequately for the championship and all my players are confident of dying a little for the title

Mbale Tigers, who won the both the girls and boys titles last year are traveling to Kenya on Friday, a day to the two day annual championships.

The event will be staged in Thika Town starting Saturday (March 7th) and will climax on the international Women’s day.

Cream of Players:

The Mbale based club is buoyed by the current country’s top ranked national Table Tennis male players,  Chilbe Gilton  (1), Ivan wamusi (3,) Idi Mumbaraka (11) will be joined by Amina Namaganda, Ludia Nadunga (3),Florence Seera (4) and Amina Kibone (7) for the much needed inspiration of Mbale Tigers.

Ivan Wamusi and Amina Kibone are part of the Uganda University Table Tennis team that shall take part in the World University Games July 2015 and Qualifying yard stick into national team for All Africa games Congo Brazzaville August 2015.

Participating Teams:

At least 20 clubs from hosts Kenya, Tanzania, Burundi, Rwanda and Uganda will be part of the event.

In Uganda, Mbale Tigers (Defending champion), Photo Genix, Nakasero, Bett Suffers and Ndejje University have already confirmed to be part.

The team departs Mbale for Kenya at 3 p.m on Friday.
