CAF Beach Soccer Qualifiers:

Return Leg: Ghana 12-2 Uganda

Aggregate Score: Ghana 21-8 Uganda

Ghana Black Sharks have progressed to the 2015 finals of the CAF Beach soccer championships (in Seychelles), at the expense of Uganda.

The West Africans achieved the feat after humiliating their visitors 12-2 in a completely one sided affair played on Sunday in Accra.

The result means Ghana complete a ‘double’ over Uganda to qualify with a 21-8 flattering aggregate scoreline since the first leg at Entebbe Sports beach ended 6-9 in favour of the West Africans.

Roch Somoka and Brian Nkuubi scored Uganda’s only strikes in Ghana.

Shoddy Preparations:

The Sand Cranes arrangements prior to the return leg had been dogged by ill preparations after conducting just a single session in the run to the journey to West Africa.

The Sand Cranes regrouped on Friday, a day before they embarked on the West African trip via Kigali.

They held a double session on Friday, which was the only training the team had, 5 days after the first leg in Enttebbe.

This was Uganda’s first moment of testing a CAF approved international experience on the sand.

Earlier, Uganda had beaten Zanzibar and Kenya in two high profile international friendly matches.

For the Black Sharks, this is the first CAF Tournament that they will play.

Ghana will be joined by 7 other countries for the continental show piece in Seychelles come April 2015 (including the hosting nation).
