Rwanda Chess Federation has confirmed that they will be sending three players to participate in the upcoming Zone 4.2 Africa Chess Championship to be held in Kampala, Uganda from 17 to 26 April 2015.

Two of the players CM Alexis Ruzigura and Valentin Rukimbira will participate in the Open Category while the third Shimwa Marie Faustine will participate in the Ladies category.

The participation of Rwanda’s players in the zonal was confirmed by the Rwanda Chess Federation Vice President, Kevin Ganza in a communication to Uganda Chess Federation on  April 6 2015.
 
This comes on the heels of earlier confirmations for participation in the event from Egypt, Tanzania and Burundi. Hosts, Uganda will be represented by seven players in the Open and seven in the Ladies category.
The Ugandan players are International Master Elijah Emojong, FIDE Master Harold Wanyama, FIDE Master Arthur Ssegwanyi, Candidate Master Haruna Nsubuga, Mathiass Ssonko, Raphael Buti and Daniel Bagadde. The ladies are WFM Ivy Amoko, Grace Kigeni, Christine Namaganda, Goretti Angolikin, Joan Nakimuli and Phiona Mutesi.
In the Open category, Egypt will field a Grandmaster El Gindy Essam. This will be the first time that a Grandmaster participates in a competitive event in Uganda.
