Hours of play: 7pm – 9pm (first game) 9pm – 11pm (second game)

The second edition of the Night Cricket League commenced on Saturday night at the Lugogo Cricket Oval with Pak Stallions taking on Afridi XI in the first game.

The second game involved UWS and Lohana at 9pm.

The tournament that is organized by Kampala Sports Boys Club will consist of 20 men’s teams and so far four women teams have shown interest.

The women will play two games before the semis and the finals

Speaking at the launch of the championship, Kampala Boys Sports Club patron Sanjiv Patel Mugisha believes with this the game is taking a more professional direction.

It’s getting more professional here, if you look at the lights we have installed. Uganda Cricket Association should think of using theses lights on a professional basis, maybe use them for training at night.

A hard tennis green ball will be used; there won’t be leg byes and LBWs, both wicketkeepers and batsmen won’t wear gloves.

Each innings will be 16 overs except for the semi finals and finals which will have 20 overs.
