Over one hundred junior and senior boxers are under going non-residential training at Lugogo ahead series of tournaments awaiting the national team.
The national boxers are preparing for a sequence of tournaments in July and September.
These include African Boxing championships in Morroco, World youth games in Samoa, All African Games qualifiers and the World Boxing Championships which doubles as Olympics qualifiers.
Trial fights have been scheduled in two weeks time to trim the squad to just forty, with boxers from abroad inclusive.
“We are preparing for a number tournaments in the coming two months but as it is has been a song most of the time we still lack financial support from the stake holders.” Uganda Boxing Federation PRO Fred Kavuma told Kawowo sports.
After trial fights, successful boxers will head into camp either in Kasese or Bukwo.
