Ugandan international striker Daniel ‘Mzee’ Sserunkuma is on the verge of returning to the side where he launched his glittering career in the Kenya Premier League – Nairobi City Stars.

This was confirmed by the club’s Chairman, Peter Obuya who stated that the striker will be unveiled on Monday June 29, 2015.

“We have reached an agreement to re-sign Sserunkuma on a one-year contract. We have discussed everything pertaining to his return and he will be unveiled on Monday. We could have unveiled the player today (Sunday) but we have small technicality that delayed us. But his move now is as good as sealed,” Obuya is quoted by Goal.com Kenya.

This will bring the reports linking the diminutive dreadlocked centre forward with a return to Gor Mahia to a stop.

City Stars was Sserunkuma’s first KPL club back in 2011 after crossing from Victors FC and his exploits there earned him a big money move to Gor Mahia in January 2012.

At K’Ogalo, he won two KPL titles and finished the 2014 season as the league’s top scorer. He moved to Tanzania joining Simba early this year but lack of playing time saw him terminate his contract with the Msimbazi.

His return to City Stars – a side coached by Ugandan, Paul Nkata will undoubtedly excite fans whose side is languishing in relegation zone sitting second from bottom.

Nkata’s side have also re-signed another Ugandan striker Jimmy Bageya.
