The Uganda Badminton team playing at the World University Games in Gwangju, South Korea lost their semifinal match to Hong Kong China on Wednesday morning. Hong Kong China subjected Uganda to their third loss in four outings at the games.

We play against sides that a well facility to train and prepare for such competitions, we were also going to struggle to match them. But am proud of my team, we came to fight and we have really given it our best, we still have matches to play and we will continue to fight on.

Team coach Ivan Karimunda told kawowo sports.

It was Daisy Nakalyango who paired with Herbert Ebayo but their efforts couldn’t match those of Yeung Lee Ling and Ng Ka Wai, the Ugandans lost 2-0 (21-8, 21-4). Yakoub Musisi could do little to stop a determined Tang Ho Kan, the latter won easily 21-4, 21-14.
