On May 20, 2015, it was reported that Uganda Cranes Captain Andrew Mwesigwa had joined South Africa Premier League side Bidvest Wits on a three year deal.

Eight days later, the club Coach Gavin Hunt fumed saying he doesn’t know who Mwesigwa was in an interview with South Africa sports Magazine KickOff.com

“Mwesigwa who? I don’t even know who you are talking about… People must check their stories,” Hunt fumes according the website.

Close to two months later, reports coming from South Africa indicate that although the PSL side have confirmed their interest in the ex-SC Villa centre back, an agreement on personal terms have seen the move hit a snag.

“Negotiations have been difficult, though we are still hoping that we will still be able to get him because we are really interested. Reaching an agreement on his personal terms has been the stumbling block,” reveals Wits CEO Jose Ferreira.

Mwesigwa’s representative Ivica Stankovic also admitted the negotiations between the two parties had broken down.
“We have failed to agree on terms and we will be moving on,” Stankovic tells KickOff.com.

Mwesigwa is a free agent since parting ways with Kazakhstan side FC Ordabasy.

It remains to be seen what the next move will be but as usual, we shall keep you posted.
