Ahead of the long awaited Uganda’s first netball world cup since 1979, the She Cranes team is set to play once again at the game’s world best fiesta in Sydney, Australia.

The She Cranes completed their warm up games on Thursday, winning two and losing one.

She Cranes lost the opener 67-46 to New Zealand before winning the other two games – against Singapore and Samoa.

Head coach, Rashid Mubiru, who replaced former coach Fred Mugerwa at the ‘last hour’ believes the friendly matches have provided the necessary impetus for the players and a perfect preparatory means ahead of the big games.

The friendly matches have been helpful in a way that our players have been used to the playing surface and the game tempo

Uganda is currently ranked number three on the African continent.

The She Cranes open up the campaign against Zambia on Friday.
