Uganda She Cranes captain Peace Proscovia has revealed that every player enjoyed themselves as the team earned a historic win against Zambia in the 2015 Netball World Cup in Sydney, Australia.

Ugandan asserted their position as one of the powerhouses of Pool D at the Netball World thanks to their 74-38 win over Zambia on Friday at the Allphones Arena.

It was Uganda’s highest score at the Netball World Cup also doubling as their least margin so far. Zambia started strongly with a couple of points in the lead, but Uganda through Peace closed the gap before taking full control of the match.

The Prolific Goal Shooter Peace scored 56 goals and a pair of assists as Goal Attack Racheal Nanyonga backed up Proscovia with 10 goals and 7 assists.

“We put in all our efforts, that’s why we won the game,” Proscovia told Netball World Cup media. “We were able to step up and put in our best. Everybody had a very good game.”

Proscovia added that she is thrilled to be in Australia for the tournament. “It has always been my dream country. The day I landed I was so excited; I couldn’t wait to get out of the plane. It is such a joy.”

The Uganda Netball She Cranes face Fiji next, in their second match on Saturday morning at 4:30am (Ugandan time). Fiji lost their opener to Wales, 52-59 and seek victory to better their disappointing start.
