Jaspreet Chatthe and Craig Thorley are the 2015 Africa Rally Champions after clinching victory in the Pearl of Africa Rally in Uganda, the sixth round of the African Rally Championship.
Chatthe cruised his way to the podium after maintaining his lead from day one to the last stage.
Chatthe completed the 720km Rally in 2hr 36mins 55sec to register his first ever Pearl Rally win.
Chatthe becomes the first Kenyan to win the African Rally Championship in 31 years after David Horsey in 1984.

Am so excited that I have won my first ARC title after three attempts. I also managed to break the Pearl Rally jinx. It a great achievement for the team.
The 2013 ARC champion Jassy Singh could not go further than stage seven after he rolled his Subaru Impreza and with that went any hopes of closing the gap on Chatthe.

Chatthe now stands on 100 points while Singh remains on 54 points with one round to go.
Meanwhile, Andrew Desh Kananura convincingly took second position overall, topping the local drivers.

He registered his best rally finish so far despite being 11 mins 41 secs behind the leader Chatthe.
Duncan Mubiru took the last podium position after finishing third overall.
Current National Rally Championship leader Arthur Blick Jnr settled for fourth and maintains his stronghold at the top of National Rally standings. Ronald Sebuguzi finished fifth.

The event registered 17 causalities out of the 36 crews that started the event.
