Ethiopia and Ghana have withdrawn from the 8th edition of the Africa Amateur Golf Team Championship set for October 10-15 at the Limuru Golf and Country Club in  Kiambu County, Kenya.

No significant explanation was given to the organisers for their withdraw.

The first nation to arrive for the tournament is Zone VI champions Uganda, who arrived this morning by bus.

Uganda’s team is led by their captain Adolf Muhumuza, Ronald Bukenya, Double Uganda Open winner Ronald Otile, Daniel Baguma reserve Happy Robert together with coach Amos Kamya and team manager Oscar Semawere.

A total of 15 countries will battle it out for the AAGTC title and the individual players trophy.

The Countries are hosts Kenya, South Africa, Tanzania, Uganda, Rwanda, Zambia, Namibia, Zimbabwe, Tunisia, Mauritius, Nigeria, Egypt, Seychelles, Botswana, and Cote d’Ivoire.

This year’s entries is expected to be the highest if all the countries honour their participation. South Africa will be seeking to win the Africa Golf team tournament for a record seventh time.
