Today’s Fixtures at Lugogo
Women: VVC vs Espoir – 6pm
Men: KAVC vs Nemostars – 8pm

In the first leg of the NSSF Volleyball League, Nemostars registered a comfortable 3-0 win over the defending champions KAVC at MUBS.

Then, KAVC blamed it on the absence of their main attacker Daudi Okello who was representing St Mary’s Kitende at the East Africa Secondary Schools Championship in Rwanda.

Okello has since returned to KAVC and is in fine form, but that has not stopped Nemostars’ acting coach, Andrew Okapis to dream of a double over the five time league winners.

It wasn’t a surprise that we defeated them in the first round we had worked hard for that victory, a second win against a big side like KAVC would lift our confidence. KAVC are league champions and we need to pick points off teams like them if we are to compete for the title

Nemostars will not only be counting on skipper George Aporu, setter Smith Okumu and main receiver Tom Amou but also middle blockers Fahad Zungu and Wilfred Masaba. The latter two have greatly improved on their net defense.

KAVC are second on the 12 team log with 33 points while Nemostars are fourth on 27 points.

In the women tie, holders Vision Volleyball Camp (VVC) will take on Espoir as the former aim to stretch their unbeaten run in the league. VVC hasn’t lost a league game in 14 outings and top the 13 team log with 40 points.
