It was a one way traffic in the CECAFA 2015 Group B match for the Uganda Cranes with a 4-0 triumph over the islanders, Zanzibar Heroes.

Team skipper, Farouk Miya had a first half brace before further goals from Erisa Ssekisambu and Ceaser Okhuti gave the Cranes victory at the Hawassa Stadium in Ethiopia.

Kawowo Sports’ David Isabirye caught the match and rates (out of 10) each of the Uganda Cranes players who featured in the game.

James Alitho (Goal Keeper) – 6

Hardly troubled throughout the match. Takes the credit for the entire backline organization as he endlessly shouted instructions from start to finish. Was excellent at thwarting any sort of aerial danger – thanks to his incredible height.

Denis Okot – 6

Executed his customary lung bursting runs down the right lane in the opening 45 minutes to perfection. His partnership with Erisa Ssekisambu on the right was blended in Kampala, packaged in Hawassa city and served in Heaven. Paved way for Kezironi Kizito at the start of the second stanza of the game.

Joseph Ochaya – 6.5

Deployed at left back than in the first match against Kenya. Improved on the corner kicks execution and missed scoring from an acute angle in the first half.

Ochaya took over the team captainancy for the last 20 minutes when Miya was substituted.

Richard Kasagga – 7

Drifted to the back line in place of Bakaki, Kasagga had a relatively good game. Strong in the air, the URA F.C center back calmly passed the ball out of defence without pressure. Good partnership with Jjuuko in central defence

Murushid Jjuuko – 7

Had a far much better game than the opening game against Kenya. Was solid in air and his combination with Kasagga ought to be given a deserved thumbs up.

Ivan Ntege – 6.5

The anchorman was as hard working as ever.  The barricade with Muwanga was impenetrable

Benard Muwanga – 6

Worked hard but still slow in decision making.  Drifted to right back to replace Okot at the start of the second half.

Muzamiru Mutyaba – 5.5

Had a silent day at office. Seldom is the creative gem intercepted as many times as the case was against Zanzibar. An average game by his known standard. Paved way for Nelson Senkatuka at the hour mark.

Farouk Miya – 7.5

Started the game as the lone striker and rewarded the technical bench’s trust with two well taken first half goals.

He was later replaced by Frank Kalanda in the 69th minute, relinquishing the captain’s arm band to Joseph Ochaya.

Erisa Ssekisambu – 8

A man of the match performance from the Vipers wide man.

He easily took over the donkey tasks of a queen bee in a busy hive. He created the opening goal for Farouk Miya and was fouled for the penalty Miya converted.

Ssekisambu tempted Yahaya Mudathir into the malicious foul before the latter was sent off

Ceaser Okhuti – 7

Scored the fourth goal for the Uganda Cranes. He would have been on the score sheet before he netted.

senkatuka

Second half substitute, Nelson Senkatuka huffed and puffed for the minutes he was introduced

Subs:

Kezironi Kizito – 5

First change for Uganda at the start of the second half, replacing Denis Okot. Exceled at his forward passing mentality.

Nelson Senkatuka4

Was hard working as expected with mazy runs off and on the ball.

The only blemish though, excusable on a debut, could be attributed to nervousness and indecisiveness.

Missed two scoring opportunities from acute angle.

Credited for a hand in the final goal.

Frank Kalanda4.5

The gangly URA F.C forward replaced two goal hero, Miya in the 69th minute for Uganda Cranes’ final change.

Combined  well with Senkatuka to lay in Okhuti’s path for the 4th goal.
