The football developmental trend in South Sudan continues to be on a pedestal rise going by the current performance in international matches for the national team.

The development followed Friday’s convincing 2-0 victory over the tournament guest team, Malawi.

An 8th minute opener from James Joseph Saed was sealed by a late Bruno Martinez strike on the 90th minute mark to give FIFA’s new entrant joy unlimited.

For the sweet victory, South Sudan qualifies for the quarter finals as Group C winners.

They beat Djibouti in their first match before holding Sudan to a barren draw in the second match.
