2015 Corporate League Winners: Cipla Quality Chemicals

The national corporate league, the 13th edition that commenced on 29th March ended on Sunday 29th November 2015 at Mandela National Stadium Namboole with CIPLA quality chemicals clinching the title.

The drug manufacturing company won the league with 115 points thus becoming the only team to win the title four times.

CIPLA also holds the record for being the only team to have won the league three times in a row [2011, 2012, and 2013].

Coca Cola is the other team to have won it thrice but not on a consecutive basis.

The latter won it in 2006, 2008, and 2010.

A difference of only two points separated the champions from DFCU Bank who secured the second spot with 113 points.

Meanwhile, the defending champions Roofings Group who were vying for their third title finished 3rd with 110 points.

All the top three teams finished their campaign with zero walkovers. On the other hand, both AAR and Rift Valley Railways finished their campaign with only 4 points, 42 walkovers with each conceding 84 goals.

A disappointing campaign it was for these two companies as they went win-less the entire season. Hotel Africana’s Felix Muhabuzi top scored with 31 goals, 6 of those coming in April.

The month of October proved to be a barren month for him as he managed only 2 goals.

Special mention goes to Lillian Akello,  a Sanlam lady who finished with 19 goals.

An official prize giving ceremony will take place on 4th December 2015 at UMA Exhibition main hall in Kampal
