When Johnson Kawenyera echoed that his Ndejje Elites side would do whatever it takes to win game two of the National Volleyball Women League to force a third game, not even the writer had second thoughts.

Kawenyera had a game plan and his opponents Vision Volleyball Camp (VVC) didn’t have a solution as Ndejje bullied Hannington Nsubuga’s side with their service and court.

It was the total opposite of events from the first game that Ndejje struggled to catch their breath through the game while VVC took charge.

On Friday in Lugogo, Ndejje won the first set 25-15, in a set, Margaret Namyalo, Christine Alupo and skipper Belinda Jepkirui all leading with their experience.

VVC’s fighting spirit was evident in the second set, Peace Busingye and Vivian Adeke putting in shifts both on reception and attacker after Prossy Alobo failed to get in the rhythm of the game.

That didn’t stop Ndejje from stretching the lead, 25-22, as the game three dream got close to being a reality.

The third set was without doubt a fairytale to remember, the hunger, desire and desperation two win from both sides was witnessed in this set.

The sides deuced until 31-31, when Ndejje capitalized on VVC’s looseness on the net to make it 32-31, before Jepkirui served Adeke who butted for Ndejje to seal the set 33-31.

The winner takes it all game three of the finals will be played on Saturday at Mubs Nakawa.
