2015 Entebbe best sports personality Gracious Jeff Kayongo, 12 is among the many in the aforementioned class.
The sensational Woodball teenager has already tested success at two international Woodball events in Malaysia and Singapore having won bronze at the respective championships.
Oozing with profound confidence compared to that of an already pollinated flower, Kayongo asserts;
I want to continue winning because I dream of being the best Woodball player in the world
Kayongo sings special praise of two personalities in his life – his father, David Jeff Kayongo and Raymond Agaba, the Woodball coach who introduced him to the Woodball game.
My father has been supportive throughout my Woodball career. He has bought me the playing equipment. I also thank coach Raymond Agaba for encouraging me play Woodball
Now in his primary seven vacation, Kayongo wishes he carries on to play the game as he matures in the various strokes and technicalities of the game played by a wooden mallet, ball as the gate is the prime target.
He was voted as the 2015 Entebbe Municipality best sports personality after beating off a strong competition from Uganda Cranes right back, Dennis Iguma and two Entebbe Mongers’ players – Ronald Adigas and Ben Kigongo Ssebalamu.
Kayongo already has the overwhelming desire to play Woodball and excel to greater heights.
