CHAN 2016 Finals: Rwanda

Head coach of the Gabonese national football team, Stéphane Bounguendz has named the team’s 23 man squad for the championship of African Nations (CHAN) tournament in Rwanda.

The Panthers head tactician released the names on Tuesday. The team has three goal keepers, eight defenders, five midfielders and seven strikers.

Missile Football club has the lion’s share of the players on the team (six), CF Mounana follows with five, Akanda F.C  has four while AS Pelican and AS Mangasport has three and four players respectively.

US Bitam is the other Gabonese clubs with one player on the team.

The team played Reunion on Monday night and will play Uganda in a build up on Sunday, 10th January 10, 2016 in an international friendly in Njeru.

Waiting List:

Lionel Richie Yackouya (AS Mnagasport ) and Junior Bayanho Aubyang (US Bitam) are on the team’s waiting list in case of any injury.

Gabon is pooled in group A alongside the host nation, Rwanda, Ivory Coast and Morocco.

The Panthers open the challenge against Northern African giants, Morocco.
