The Tanzania national women’s cricket team is gearing up for the ICC-Africa Regional Twenty20 Women’s World Cup Qualifiers due April and all is up for grabs as they target to sail through to the finals.
Their previous attempt to make the continental showpiece was disaster and since featuring at the Women’s Africa Championship in Dar es Salaam last year, hope seems to be a fairly tale.
The regrouping set for early February is now closer and many aspects are expected to change for the better according to Tanzania Cricket Association (TCA), Hamis Abdallah, who confirmed the team’s participation in the qualifiers.
“We expect that they will respond positively to training and stay focused for the qualifiers,” he told The Citizen.
The provisional squad will be named after the Women’s Regional T20 Championship bound to sieve the best from regional branches like Arusha, Morogoro, Dar es Salaam and Mwanza.
