In a bid to revive the club’s fans base, KCCA FC has again launched another fans club in KCCA FC Kampala Central Divisions Fans Club.

This was at the event organised by the division’s fans’ interim committee held at Nakivubo Blue Primary School on Monday afternoon.

The official launch was made by club Chairman Julius Kabugo who handed the flag to interim chairman Muhammad Ssetimba.

Speaking at the function, Ssetimba revealed why they came up with the issue opening the branch.

“Truth be told, the fan base of the club has decreased in past few years not because of non-existence of fans, but because of lack mobilization and coordination,” he noted. “For this reason, we have to lead the move the revitalize this and see fans return to stadia,” he added.

Kabugo hailed the fans’ initiative to re-open the branches and hinted that any part of the country that wants to follow suite should proceed and inform the club since the club belongs to the fans.

“The authority funds the team but it’s your team. This is good and we hope it continues and we see a rejuvenated fan base.”

Club Chief Executive Officer David Tamale revealed that as soon as the process of launching fans’ branches concludes, there will be workshops for the fans.

“We are planning workshops to sensitize fans about their role in the club. But we shall only carry out this after nationwide registration for easy planning.”

The event was attended by among others Division fans chairpersons from Makindye, Kawempe and Nakawa. ex-KCCA footballers Paul Ssali and Fred Kiyingi Musisi as well as dignitaries from all over Kampala.

Before the official launch, a friendly match was played between the Central Division and Kawempe Division ending 1-1 at full time.
