Soana football club head captain, Hamis Kitagenda believes it is time his team transforms from a mid-table side to a serious title contender.
The veteran striker with a wealth of experience having played for the Uganda Cranes, clubs in Rwanda, Uganda and the mid-east asserts;
We (Soana F.C) are no longer a mid-table team.
It is time we transform the mentality to winning important matches and having a go at the main thing (title)
Kitagenda is a calm player off the playing field one would doubt is full of running and aggressive once donned in the jersey.
He cautions against complacency, calling for more spirited display from his charges as the second round goes by.
Soana has already lost 4-0 to The Saints F.C, drew 3 all with army side, Simba and won important games as well.
They defeated Sadolin Paints away 2-1 in Bugembe and won 1-0 at home against another Jinja entity, Jinja Municipal Council Hippos football club.
Against his former side, KCCA F.C this Tuesday at Nakivubo stadium, Kitagenda is more than ready to prove he is still the known potent weapon of old.
These are games i love to play.
I have the seniority and in position to harm them (KCCA)
The other senior player on the same side is dancing winger Dan Wagaluka who has also previously played for the Uganda Cranes.
At the current state of the Azam Uganda Premier league table standing, Soana is 7th with 28 points from 19 games having won and drawn 7 games apiece with 5 losses.
Only seven points separate them from the current league leaders, KCCA F.C although the latter have a game advantage.
