Ivan Lumanyika is the latest addition to Kansanga based Kampala International University (KIU) Titans as the side chase look to challenge City Oilers in the title race.

The center is about to complete his studies at Uganda Christian University and is ready to feature for the Hamza Nyambogo-coached side in the coming season.

KIU team manager Nasser Sserunjoji however reveals that their target as a team will not necessarily be to lift the title, “Our target is still the same, to play in that maiden final,” he told Kawowo Sports.

KIU have been arguably the busiest in the transfer market; John Hakizimana, Sudi Ulanga, Etienne Kazungu, Oscar Muge, Mathew Ochieng and Tong Gatweck are the other new signings for the side that was eliminated in the semifinals by UCU Canons last year.

“We have offloaded a number of players so the change was necessary,” Sserunjoji added.

With the arrival of the new brigade, Julius Lutwama, Francis Kasekende, Moses Olobo, Donald Blick and Akol Bol have all been deemed surplus and will have to try elsewhere.

Point guard Chris Omanye is the other to be leaving KIU.

The Titans signed Henry Malinga, Geoffrey Soro and Norman Blick last year but failed to beat the semifinal hurdle and the additions made so far will make them genuine title contenders.
