  • The Saints Vs URA – Nelson Mandela National Stadium, Namboole – 4.30pm

After The Saints’ 2-0 loss to Lweza last Tuesday at Wankulukuku, the visitors’ coach, Moses Basena faced the media.

Tasked to reflect on the game past, he was looking forward the next fixture – The Saints versus URA.

“I have nothing more i could demand from the players. This is now past and i am looking forward our game with URA F.C on Friday” Basena answered.

Such was the target and focus for his next game in question.

Basena was at the helm of the tax collectors’ side when they fell to Vianney Ssekajugo’s goal in the first round.

The loss catalyzed his sacking a couple of weeks later.

Basena, also Uganda Cranes’ assistant to Micho believes the match then was just a learning experience;

“We approach the match with caution. We need maximum results and my players have the believe” he added.

Yasin Mugume, Alex ‘Benzima’ Kitata, Patrick Isaac Kirabira and Owen Kasule are key pillars for team The Saints’ attack as Marlon Tangawuzi and goalie Yasin Mugabi remain solid figures at the back.

On the other hand, the league’s top scorer Robert Ssentongo (with 15 goals under his name) will be tasked to work tirelessly to add to his tally.

Sentongo’s partner in crime, Frank Kalanda and left footed dribbling gem, Elukunah Nkugwa are crucial in URA’s quest for positive results.

Savio Kabugo who missed the 3-2 home victory over army side, Simba is subject to a late fitness test but flank players, Julius Ntambi (right back) and the left footed Allan Munaaba are available for selection.

The main key battle for this fixture will be won and lost in the middle of the pack as Saidi Kyeyune, Nicholas Kagaba and Oscar Agaba face off with the free dribbling Mugume and Patrick Senfuka.

The Saints are fourth from bottom with 19 points from 20 games and one sure way to get safe from the relegation politics is to ensure a victory.

URA’s dream for a championship is much alive according to head coach, Kefa Kisala.

The tax collectors are currently third and they stand a good mathematical chance to be champions if KCCA and Vipers falter
