Rams Vs Rhinos – 4:30PM, Makerere

The first round tie between Betway Kobs and Black Pirates brought out the best of the two rivals, the sides exchanged no pleasantries on the day as fans were served with not only rugby but kick boxing as well.

Pirates Scrumhalf Brian Ochan and Kobs’ hooker Cyrus Wathum exchanged punches in the middle of the pitch while Joseph Aredo had to be rushed to the hospital after suffering a concussion. Brian Odong left the scene with a swollen eye while Oscar Kalyango had to get stitches after the bruising encounter. Ivan Magomu saw a red card on the day.

That rivalry will be renewed Saturday evening at the same venue and Kobs’ captain Odong has labeled the tie as a cup final.

“We have three cup finals coming up and we have to be focused till the end,” he told Kawowo Sports ahead of the tie. “Any errors can and will be punished,” he added.

Kobs are ahead of Hima cement Heathens by 4 points and will want to play the final game against Robert Sseguya’s charges with that advantage still intact.

Kobs come off a convincing win over Ezeey money Rhino and will be hoping to collect maximum points against Anthony Kinene’s youthful side.

Meanwhile second placed Heathens host Sadolin Mongers and will be looking to maintain their second round form that has seen them win all their games.
