Kenyan international Bruce Kamau has gained the status of hero at Adelaide United following his efforts that earned his club the A-League title.

The 21-year-old was sensational in the wing, creating a spark, spurring Adelaide United to their first league title as they beat Western Sydney Wanderers in the grand final.

Kamau scored the opening goal in the game, and added life to their 3-1 win infront of more than 50,000 fans in the Adelaide Oval Stadium.

“I started playing football when I came to Australia for fun but when I realised I could take it somewhere I started taking it a bit more serious, but you never really think you’re going to be on this stage in the grand final,” Kamau told Tuko.

“In front of 50,000 people to get the win and for myself to score, it’s an unreal feeling.”

Kamau began a football education after shifting to Australia with his family in 1999 from Kenya. He has played clubs; Eastern United, Campbelltown City, Adelaide City and Adelaide Olympic.
