Warriors 57-85 Power

For a few minutes into the third quarter, Jack Pemba, the Warriors’ sponsor, might have considered recalling his 250M from the two-time champions.

They only came to the floor but forgot to play and Power roughed them up for a convincing 85-57 win to send a message to their critics.

“It is a good win for us and now the critics can go on and talk,” Power forward Michael Makiadi told Kawowo Sports after the game on Friday night.

The game had a slow start with both sides struggling to execute but Power exploded in the third stanza as Warriors froze. Mark Opio’s buzzer beater had sent the sides to the locker room with Power leading by just 2 points.

Philip Ameny opened the second half with a monster slam and tied the game at 45 all, but that was the last time Sam Obol’s charges put up a fight.

Power opened an 11 point lead (62-51) going into the last quarter and Warriors just had no way back, they only scored six points in the last ten minutes while Power poured in a massive 25 to register their second comprehensive win of the season.

“We have to be ashamed of our performance and wake up,” Warriors’ Opio told this website at the end of the game. “We have to be serious and such a performance is totally unacceptable,” he added.

Joseph Ikong had a game high 21 points while Makiadi added 12 and the returning Isaac Afridra contributed 11.

Opio scored 19 points while Ameny and Ahmed Temitope added 12 and 8 respectively in Warriors’ losing effort.
