The 28-year-old did not feature in the club’s previous win over Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC in the 4th round of U.S. Open Cup, a match that finished 1-0.
Azira has been a major supporting fulcrum in the Rapids squad as they currently hold top spot in the Western conference, a feat he believes has come down to the respect the outfit have started getting.
“When you lead the table, teams are happy to get out of here with a point,” Azira said. “In the second half we said, ‘No guys, this is our home.”
